Tipperary coach takes up new role in senior inter-county hurling management with Laois hurlers

Laois GAA has confirmed the appointment of Aidan Stakelum from Holycross Ballycahill as a coach and selector on their senior hurling team, joining Tommy Fitzgerald’s management setup ahead of the 2026 hurling season.

Currently, Stakelum is steering the Holycross Ballycahill senior squad, which is preparing for next weekend’s county semi-final.

Over recent years, he has accumulated an impressive coaching résumé. He guided Loughmore Castleiney to win the Dan Breen Cup in 2024 and earlier this year led Thurles CBS to both Harty Cup and Croke Cup success.
