Council proposes closing Tipperary Town road for close to three months

Tipperary County Council proposes closing close to one kilometre of road in Tipperary Town for just over three months early next year to facilitate the repair and replacement of watermains. 

The Council has given notice of its intention to close the L-8109 from the junction of Mount Bruis National School for 900m south to the junction with R-664-2 daily from 7am to 7pm from Monday, January 5 until Monday, March 16, 2026.

The areas included in the road closure are Garryduff, Ardlomen, Killea,, Farranacliff and Ardvullane, Tipperary Town. 

The following detours are proposes. 

Eastbound traffic arriving via the Ardvullane Road to the northern end of the road closure is to follow the detour east to the road that passes through Breansha Beg to the south and link up with the L-8109 Ardloman
Westbound Traffic arriving via the L-8109 Ardloman to the south of the road closure is to continue east to divert north on the road that passes through Breansha Beg and turn west onto Ardvullane. 

Objections to the proposed temporary closure may be submitted in writing to Road Closures, Roads & Transportation, Tipperary County Council, Civic Offices, Limerick Road, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary not later than 12 noon on Thursday 20 November or by e-mail to roadclosures@tipperarycoco.ie
