Over €420,000 in funding announced for rural community projects across Tipperary

A total of nine community groups across Tipperary have been awarded funding for small-scale infrastructure improvements, with six in North Tipperary and three in the South receiving grants ranging from €8,835 to €65,000. The investments are set to enhance local facilities and support community-led development.

In North Tipperary, Kilruane MacDonaghs GAA and Camogie Club will receive €65,000 for carpark surfacing and footpath replacement, Rearcross FC €50,724 for lighting upgrades, Knock Community Centre Committee €63,074 for upgrade works, Gortnahoe Community Playschool €8,835 for a sensory garden, Drombane Community Centre €64,347 for renovations, and Knockshegowna GAA Community Centre €39,867 for toilet upgrades.

In South Tipperary, Burncourt Community Hall in Cahir has been allocated €58,568 for upgrade works, Donohill Development Council Ltd €62,363 for new stairs, handrail, and kitchen facilities.

Michael Lowry TD welcomed the announcement, describing it as a significant investment for local communities. He said, "This funding brings real momentum to community-led development. Each of these projects represents the determination of local volunteers, clubs, and organisations to strengthen their area. Today’s announcement gives their work the support it deserves."

Ryan O’Meara added, "I am delighted to welcome funding for these community projects in North Tipperary under the CLÁR Programme 2025."

The package reflects a continued focus on supporting rural infrastructure and ensuring that community facilities across Tipperary are upgraded to meet local needs.
