The initiative sought to ensure that those requiring extra support on Christmas Day were not forgotten, reflecting the club’s emphasis on community service and neighbourly care.
Volunteers delivered freshly prepared meals to households identified as needing assistance, offering both practical help and reassurance on what can be a challenging day for some.
In a post shared on the club’s Facebook page, Cashel Lions Club highlighted the spirit behind the effort, noting that there was no better way to celebrate the season than by making sure everyone felt remembered and cared for.
Paying tribute to those involved, the club wrote: “A huge thank you to our dedicated volunteers (Seamus, Tom, Margaret, Cal, Owen, Pat, Eibhlis, Marie and Aoibhe) who took time away from their own families to serve others!”
The Christmas morning deliveries, carried out quietly and without ceremony, underlined the continued role of local voluntary organisations in supporting community life during the festive period.
