LIVE: Planning granted to demolish derelict Bed and Breakfast in Tipperary

The council has granted permission for the demolition of two derelict properties in Tipperary.

Planning permission was sought in December 2024, for the demolition of an old B&B building and a neighbouring bungalow in Clonmel.

Plans for the site after demolition state that the owner wishes to construct two new dormer style dwellings at the site.

As part of the council's assessment of the application, an Archaeological Impact Assessment was undertaken to uncover known or suspected archaeological sites that the project might disturb or destroy.

The conclusion of the report stated that as a preventative measure, it is recommended that protective fencing/barriers should be erected in front of a boundary wall on the site to ensure the structure is not inadvertently damaged by heavy plant and/or machinery during construction.
