The Tipp Town Facebook page has shared a letter they received defending a perceived poor parking job which they had shared the previous day.
On Monday afternoon, the page shared an image of a car parked at an angle with its rear facing onto a one-way street.

Many commenters felt that the parking undertaken was poor and could obstruct other road users.
Earlier this morning, the page shared a letter sent in by someone who had seen the image and wished to defend the driver of the car.
The writer claimed that the driver of the car was an 89-year-old woman who had pulled up briefly to go into the nearby deli to collect her dinner.
The writer remarked on the courage of the lady, stating that despite the poor weather conditions, she still managed to get out of the house and drive to the deli.
They also stated that the woman was parked in the space for no more than five minutes, and that she did not obstruct passing cars.
Finally, they closed out their letter by stating that people should direct their attention away from the elderly lady, and direct it towards improperly parked cars along the main street and in disabled parking spots.
The letter reads: “Hi Josephine,
"I’m aware of the post on facebook about that car parked yesterday in front of the deli! Since I have no facebook I must write to you here! The lady that parked there, is a 89 year old lady that still has the courage to get in the car and come in town and get her dinner and often she gets dinners for others too! At the age of 89!!!
“It was absolutely lashing out! She was try to make her way in as quick as possible! Now…I know it’s not the best of parking procedure, but people should just think twice before they start to judge! It’s a one way street and there was plenty of space for other cars to pass! And the lady was there for no longer than 5 minutes!
“Perhaps this people that contact you with this type of “traffic offences” should go and take pictures of the cars that are parked illegally in the disabled parking lots, or double parked along the Main Street!”
Dozens of people flocked to the comments section to express their support for the lady, with one user saying: “This lady of 89 years need to be respected. Let's hope we will all be around at her age and maybe able to drive. I'm sure nobody was unable to drive down the street.”
Another said: “So true.. there was plenty of room to pass. Well done to that lady .. we would all love to hope that at her age we would still be behind the wheel and not judged!”

Some users however felt that the lady’s age should not be a factor in her parking, with one user saying: “Age has nothing to do with parking safely! We all have to do it. Why not ring the place, say where u are legally n safely parked and get them to drop dinners to the car. U admire her age to be still driving and think it gives excuse to park any old way. Nope.”
Another user commented: “Why has this lady been put in such a predicament ? she shouldn't be doing that and especially for others also. traffic laws don't favour any age !! no excuse she should have someone doing that for her. that's the problem here and the ones allowing this to happen are to blame?”
