Munster Vales, which is funded by Tipperary, Cork, Waterford, and Limerick County Councils, is looking to promote more tourism within the area in its 2026 to 2031 strategic plan, with a brochure circulated to each county's council, tourist office, and businesses in the region.

Maria O’Donnell spoke at the monthly Tipperary/Cahir district meeting, discussing all the new plans for the group.

This new six-year plan aims to attract domestic and international visitors to Ireland's rural regions to benefit local communities, tourism providers, and the local economy.

To support advertising, 36,000 euros were awarded from ORIS funding, which will be used to produce 10 promotional videos showcasing walking trails across the region, with one in Aherlow included.

The target group will be motorcycle tourists, mostly male riders aged 45 or older, who are adventure-focused and travel in small groups. An action plan will follow in Q2 of 2026 with actions for Munster Vales to take to promote the area to this target market.

A new website will also be launched in Q4 of 2026 with a brand-new layout and functionality. Munster Vales will also appear on the new series of At Your Service to talk about the group and what they offer.
