NEWS: Tipperary national school wins national 'Films in Schools' competition

It earned the ‘Outstanding Achievement in Film-Making Originality’ award at the 20th FÍS Film Awards, celebrated on February 12 at the Helix in Dublin.

In 2025, students from Killaloe Boys National School and Killaloe Convent Primary School joined the Creative Clusters Art programme, crafting a captivating short film with a crankie box to bring the powerful Civil War tale of the Scariff Martyrs to life.

Their film went on to compete in the national Films in Schools competition, where it earned the ‘Outstanding Achievement in Film-Making Originality’ award at the 20th FÍS Film Awards, celebrated on February 12 at the Helix in Dublin.
