The Federation of Irish Sport honoured Sean Minogue of Nenagh after he was named Tipperary’s 2025 recipient of the Volunteers in Sport Awards.
Minogue was honoured at a special ceremony on Thursday, February 26, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Blanchardstown, alongside volunteers from every county in Ireland.
Sean was recently elected for the 50th consecutive year as an officer of the Riverdale Pitch & Putt Club. He currently holds the role of treasurer, which he has held for 28 years.
He previously served as secretary of the club for 18 years and before that was assistant secretary for seven years.
As an officer, Sean has been involved in the club updating facilities extensively.
Sean has been the main lead in the club, receiving grants for machinery and leading the fundraising for the club, which includes the yearly organising of flag days and administering the collection of green fees.
Sean has also been actively involved at Tipperary County Board level for Pitch and Putt and has served as Chairman, Vice Chairman and Registrar.
Sean currently holds the position of County Secretary and has been in this position for three years. At national level Sean is currently the Honorary Auditor of Pitch and Putt Ireland a position he has held since 2008.
