Tadhg is excited to work alongside experienced Intel engineers in design and manufacturing.

The opportunity to solve complex problems, optimise manufacturing processes and contribute to the development of world-changing technology is a huge opportunity that will stand to Tadhg throughout his career.

Tadhg is currently studying robotics at Maynooth University and has participated in several robotics competitions in Ireland having developed a passion for STEM from an early age.

At Intel, he is helping to drive the supply strategy of the cutting-edge products that are being designed and developed at the Leixlip site.

Tadhg said: “I applied for the programme as I really admired the work of Intel and wanted to get a further understanding of the day-to-day operations of the company. Every day is different. Recently, I worked on a design project, and it has been rewarding to see it come to life from conception to completion. It has been great to get practical hands-on experience, learning from my colleagues and my mentors.”

Kenny McNamee, Intel Ireland Higher Education Strategy Chair said: “As we celebrate Engineers Week across Ireland, it’s especially fitting to recognise talented students like Tadhg who represent the next generation of innovators. At Intel, our internship programme gives students the opportunity to contribute to advancing technologies from semiconductor design to AI acceleration, shaping the technologies that define modern life. Our interns are contributing to critical areas of manufacturing, chip development and AI transformation, and we are delighted to see them applying their academic knowledge to solve complex, real-world challenges.”

Building on the success of this year’s programme, Intel is currently recruiting the next cohort of ambitious Second and Third Year students to join the initiative to develop their skills and contribute to the growth of STEM industry in Ireland.

Interested students can apply through their college or university and online at Intel Careers.
