RIP: Tributes paid to late Tipperary woman who was 'a remarkable lady'

The death has occurred of Janet O’Connor (née Ryan), of Glenview Square, Tipperary Town, and formerly of Ballinacourty, Aherlow.

Janet passed peacefully on March 4, 2026 surrounded by her loving family at Tipperary University Hospital.

Janet is predeceased by her parents Edmund & Bridget & her brother Thady.

She is sadly missed by her loving husband Anthony, son John, grand-daughter Sophie, her sisters and brothers, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours & friends.

May she rest in peace.

Requiem Mass takes place at 12pm on Saturday, March 7, at St Michael’s Church, Tipperary Town, followed by burial in St Michael’s Cemetery, Tipperary.

The family has asked for family flowers only, with donations in lieu, if desired, to be made to the South Tipperary Hospice Movement.

Tributes have been paid to Janet online, with one person saying: “My deepest sympathy to Anthony johnny Sophie on the sad passing of janet she was a beautiful quiet lady may she rest in heavenly peace.”

Another said: “To Anthony, Johnny, Sophie and the extended O'Connor and Ryan families we offer our sincere condolences on the sad news of Janet's passing. What a remarkable lady, so kind and gentle - she will be so sadly missed by all who had the great pleasure to know and love her. We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. May the light of heaven guide you Janet, rest in peaceful sleep.”
