A local councillor has called for urgent action to address ongoing criminality and anti-social behaviour linked to a specific property in Cashel.
Cllr Liam Browne said he will again raise the issue with Tipperary County Council on Tuesday morning, urging the local authority to intervene and enforce planning regulations at the property. He stated that the location has become the base for a growing number of incidents in the town centre.
According to Cllr Browne, despite repeated complaints from members of the public, the Council has failed to act on its own regulations. He said this lack of enforcement has left local residents without answers and without reassurance.
Concerns have intensified in recent times, with reports suggesting that individuals leaving Portlaoise Prison, or those awaiting bail for alleged offences committed elsewhere, may now be staying at the property.
Cllr Browne said residents in the area feel abandoned by the authorities and are increasingly worried about safety and the ongoing impact on the community.
