Clonmel Town etched their name into the history books with a composed and disciplined performance to secure the TSDL Youths League title for the first time in a decade.

This was a game that carried real importance and it showed early on, with both sides cautious in possession and prioritising defensive structure.

The first half was a tactical battle, with very few clear-cut chances. Leon Kelly came closest for Town when his effort from the edge of the box rattled the frame of the goal — a warning sign of what was to come.

Town emerged after the break with greater intent, pressing higher and forcing errors.

Their breakthrough on 55 minutes was a moment of individual brilliance, Shane Hennessy showing quick feet to create space before finishing emphatically past Cillian Fitzgerald in the Saints goal.

St Michael’s responded with urgency, and their best opportunity came from a dangerous Luke Webster free kick that was brilliantly tipped away by Town goalie Nathan Gucwa.

The closing stages were frantic, with St Michael’s pushing bodies forward, but Town’s defensive organisation and game management saw them over the line.
