Another golfing season officially under way at Tipperary Golf Club

A huge attendance of 157 players (40 teams) played in good weather at the Captains’ Drive-in at Tipperary Golf Club, with the captains all safely negotiating their drives to kick-start the season.

Lady Captain Deirdre Hayes teed off with confidence and ease, followed swiftly by Junior Captain Sean Kinane with a great drive, with all of his family supporting him. Men’s Captain Daniel Connery didn’t disappoint with a super drive down the middle of the fairway to a cheer from the crowd, and the golfing season was officially under way.

Winners of the Front 9:
First place: Eddie Madden, Timmy Walsh, Patricia O’Dwyer and Paddy Mulcahy (3 Under par) (9.95 Handicap) score 24.05.
Second place: Alex Ryan, David Mulcahy and Aoife Lowry (6 under par) (6.78 Handicap) score 24.22.

Winners of the Back 9:
First place: Eamon Mulcahy, Barbara Leahy, Aodha O’Keeffe and Ciaran Gannon (5 under par) (7.81 Handicap) Score 22.19.
Second place: Patrick Kennedy, Scott Perry, Mary Whelan and Gerry Gannon.
(3 under par) (7.2 Handicap) Score 24.8.
