The original application, submitted on February 12, had been due for a decision by April 8th. However, the company said it was informed by Tipperary County Council on April 1st that the proposal could not be considered, as it had been filed one day outside the permitted timeframe.
The plans relate to upgrades at the site, including a new car park featuring electric vehicle charging points, the creation of a new vehicular entrance from James Street, and associated development works.
The proposal prompted a single observation from nine local residents. Their submission raised concerns about noise levels in the early morning, linked to loading and unloading activity at the junction of Grattan Street and Davis Street.
While expressing support for the provision of eight additional parking spaces and three EV charging points to the south of the existing building, the residents called for future operational activity to be confined either to the existing courtyard or to the proposed car park area beneath trees that are to be retained.
The facility serves as a base for mail delivery services in Tipperary town and Cahir, and also operates as a parcel collection point.
