It is understood that the decision was taken in the interests of fairness to all participating clubs, particularly in light of the challenges some may face around travel and logistics.

A spokesperson said: "We feel this is only fair to all clubs involved, given the difficulties many may face with travel and logistics at this time. We will continue to monitor the situation closely over the coming days.

"Our hope is to hold the competition at the same venue next Saturday and play the games through to the finals on that day.

"We appreciate your understanding and cooperation, and we will keep you updated with any further information."

Clubs and supporters have been thanked for their cooperation, with further updates to follow.
