Over €300,000 collected in Tipperary parking fines

Paid parking is in operation in nine towns in Tipperary

Over €300,000 was collected in parking fines by Tipperary County Council in 2025, across the nine towns where paid parking is implemented.

A grand total of €308,112 was paid up by careless drivers, the vast majority in Clonmel where 2,469 people were caught red-handed.

The next in the list of the guilty was Nenagh, where 1,346 drivers were caught, Thurles with 1,258, and Carrick-on-Suir, with 1,052 hit with parking fines.

Tipperary Town saw 914 fines handed out, 548 in Cashel, 267 in Templemore, 256 in Roscrea, and 142 drivers were fined in Cahir in 2025.

Fines are between €40 and €80, and the amounts increase by 50% after a 28 day period. Failing to display a tax disc comes with a €60 charge, and illegally parking in a disabled parking bay results in a €150 fine.
