Tipperary Tigersharks Swimming Club recently celebrated a hugely successful weekend for its swimmers, with outstanding performances across two major competitions: The Minor Schools National Competition hosted at the National Aquatic Centre in Dublin, and the Ellen Cassidy Gala at the University of Limerick.

Competing in the National Aquatic Centre was Patricia Ryan, who had impressed with a previous strong performance earlier in the year at UL that had earned her qualification for the Minor Schools National Competition while representing her primary school, Oola.

Patricia went on to build on that success, claiming gold at the All-Ireland national event in 50 metres Freestyle, underlining her growing talent and competitive consistency.

Also at the National Minor Schools event, Tigersharks swimmers representing various schools delivered excellent performances, with all achieving personal bests in their various events. The results highlight the depth of talent within the club and the commitment of both swimmers and coaches to continuous improvement.

Among the outstanding performers for Tigersharks were Emily and Alice Erbs (Lisvernane NS), Georgina Purcell (Emly NS), Hannah O’Connell (Ayle NS), Beau Burke (Thomastown NS), Catherine Ryan (Oola NS), Isabelle Ryan (Oola NS) and Grace Ryan (Oola NS), all of whom achieved PBs in their various categories.

His result marks a significant milestone in his development and reflects the strength and dedication within the club’s high-performance programme.

The Ellen Cassidy Gala, hosted by Dolphin Swim Club, honours the memory of former swimmer Ellen Cassidy and celebrates her passion for the sport by providing a competitive platform for developing swimmers.
