Students from St Mary's raise the pride flag for Stand Up Week
To celebrate Stand Up Week in St. Mary’s Secondary School, we had a number of events within SPHE and other subjects where students engaged in activities and learned more about how to be supportive and inclusive towards others.
On Monday, students raised the pride flag. On Tuesday, a poster competition was run for the first and second-year students. On Wednesday, all years took part in our BISOCKulaity Day.
Students wore odd socks with bright colours. On Thursday, students ran a rainbow bake sale at lunchtime, and some of our fifth-year students ran a face painting station.
All money raised will be donated to BeLonG To Youth Services. To finish the week, all members of the school, including staff, took part in a rainbow jumper day.
