Josie Gibson to host new ITV show How To Clean Up For Cash

Josie Gibson to host new ITV show How To Clean Up For Cash

Josie Gibson will host a new ITV show this spring where she will sneak into families’ homes to box up their clutter to see how much it is worth.

How To Clean Up For Cash will see Gibson distract unsuspecting participants with a fake TV show while she spends 48 hours working with a team of experts to clear out their homes and secretly get their belongings valued.

Participants will then return to their tidied houses and be asked whether they would like to sell the clutter which has been boxed up by Gibson and her crew, or to keep it.

Speaking about her new gig the 41-year-old presenter said: “How To Clean Up For Cash is a show with so much heart. It isn’t just about decluttering, it’s about bringing people together.

“We’re on the ground, in homes across the country, showing viewers how much their everyday items might be worth.”

Gibson, from Bristol, is a “car boot sale fanatic and passionate collector” who is on a mission in her new show to help other people to shift their stuff.

The six-part series, produced by MultiStory Media and Vintage Cash Cow, will also see Gibson work closely with antiques and collectable expert Dan Hatfield and declutter expert Jacqueline McLeod.

Kate Teckman, head of development and commissioning editor, factual entertainment ITV, said: “We’ve turned the decluttering genre on its head. Expect mischief, revelations behind the value of everyday items and plenty of jaw-dropping moments.

“Josie’s infectious humour combined with Dan and Jacqui’s expertise really packs a punch.”

Simone Haywood, creative director at Multistory Media, said: “We’re not just decluttering – we’re revealing the true value behind what people own.

“When everything’s boxed and priced, it sparks honest, often surprising conversations about what really matters.”

Gibson shot to fame after winning Channel 4 reality show Big Brother in 2010, and has since presented shows including Around The World In First Class and Ultimate Christmas Gift Guide With Josie Gibson.

She finished fourth on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2023, and is also a regular presenter on ITV’s This Morning.

How To Clean Up For Cash launches on April 13, and will be broadcast across ITV1, STV, ITVX and STV Player.
