Stars go to dizzying heights as I’m A Celebrity spin off returns

The all-star version of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! returns to screens with its second series on Monday.

I’m A Celebrity… South Africa, hosted by Ant and Dec, will see former contestants return to the jungle for new trials and challenges.

Those returning stars include Olympian Sir Mo Farah, former Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt, Pussycat Dolls singer Ashley Roberts and comedian Seann Walsh.

Also joining them will be Red Dwarf’s Craig Charles, former footballer Jimmy Bullard, Coronation Street star Beverley Callard and actor Adam Thomas.

Ahead of the Monday night release, ITV have teased a few of the tasks the stars will face in the first episode.

These include Sir Mo, Roberts, Thomas and Callard having to complete a jigsaw while balancing on a platform that seesaws on the edge of a cliff, 140ft above the ground.

In another challenge, Moffatt and former boxer David Haye are locked in lodges and need to retrieve keys, but in true I’m A Celebrity style, they are not alone.

While Walsh and singer Sinitta will race against each other 150ft up in the air.

The reality series spin-off is pre-recorded, unlike the classic I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and has been heralded by Moffatt as a more “intense” version.

Despite being crowned queen of the jungle in 2016, Moffatt said the follow-up series was not as easy as she had imagined.

Speaking at a media roundtable, Moffatt said: “Because we’ve all done it, I was like ‘oh, this is going to be a doddle’!”

“It was a lot more intense, it was hardcore.

“It wasn’t as harmonious as the first time I went in, only because I think we were all such big characters.

“If we’d all just got on the whole time when we’re such big characters, I don’t think anyone would have believed it, but I think it’ll make for good entertainment.”

Hosted by Ant and Dec, the second series of the all-star format will give the public the power to cast their vote for the winner in a live grand final broadcast direct from London, crowning the “ultimate legend 2026”.

I’m A Celebrity… South Africa starts on April 6 at 9pm on ITV1 and airs every weeknight Monday to Friday.
