Jimmy Bullard calls his campmate Adam Thomas “pathetic” following an explosive row after the former footballer stops this evening’s bushtucker trial early, in tonight’s episode of I’m A Celebrity… South Africa.
In a sneak peek at Tuesday’s show, tensions are rising between the celebrities and Thomas sparks an argument with Bullard, after the latter says he has not “got it in me” to complete the day’s challenge.
During the bushtucker trial, celebrities including Sinitta, Harry Redknapp, Ashley Roberts and Thomas are seen covered in insects, bugs and dirt as they tackle puzzles and obstacle courses in the hope of winning stars for camp.
Meanwhile, as his campmates take on the gruelling task, former Fulham player Bullard is seen simply watching on and says: “Boys, I don’t think I’ve got it in me.”
Presenters Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly urge him to carry on for the sake of his teammate Thomas, and Donnelly says: “Come on Jim, don’t let him down.”
Bullard then apologises to Thomas and exclaims, “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here”, which causes the trial to be ended for everyone involved and means contestants must forfeit the stars they have won.
Bullard apologises to the team, while Thomas storms towards him and says: “Taking the f****** piss, are you taking the f****** piss?”
The Waterloo Road star comes face-to-face with Bullard during the heated exchange, and the former footballer says: “Woah woah, you don’t have to say that. Everyone’s got their own story.”
Thomas responds, “I’m in there getting covered in f****** ants,” while Bullard tells him to “calm down”, and describes his outburst as “pathetic”.
The explosive row between the pair left their campmates in shock, and comes amid rumours that Bullard may not appear in the show’s live final later this week.
Elsewhere in the episode, an unnamed campmate reveals to their fellow celebrities that they will not be able to carry on with the show due to “medical reasons”, and withdraws from the process.
The campmate, who is yet to be revealed, says: “I didn’t feel very well this morning… and the medics have advised I can’t return to camp.
“I’ve got to go home. I don’t want to go. I’m absolutely gutted. I wanted to finish.”
Their departure comes before the eagerly-anticipated series finale on Friday, during which the public will have the power to cast their vote for the winner and decide who is crowned the “ultimate legend 2026”.
I’m A Celebrity… South Africa can be seen at 9pm on ITV1, STV, ITVX and STV Player, and will air on weeknights.
