A Birmingham City footballer has been charged with drink driving after a three-vehicle crash.
Warwickshire Police said officers were called to a collision on the A3400 near Henley-in-Arden at around 10.30pm on Easter Monday.
German striker Marvin Ducksch, 32, of Solihull, has been charged with drink driving and is due to appear at Warwickshire Magistrates’ Court on May 20.
Earlier on the day of the alleged incident, Ducksch had played in Birmingham’s 2-1 defeat to Ipswich Town at Portman Road.
The EFL Championship club said in a statement: “The club can confirm that Marvin Ducksch has been charged in relation to an offence of driving with excess alcohol.
“Marvin wishes to apologise to his teammates, staff and supporters of the club and accepts full responsibility for his actions.
“The matter has been dealt with internally and no further comment will be made at this time.”
