SETU Waterford suffer defeat in opening game of Fitzgibbon Cup

University of Galway 2-23 SETU Waterford 1-13 

On Wednesday, SETU Waterford began their Fitzgibbon Cup campaign with a 13-point loss to the University of Galway at Dangan.

Evan Niland starred for the Galway outfit while Déise hurler Reuben Halloran (1-09) scored most of SETU Waterford's tally.

The Waterford college now face MTU Cork next week to see who joins the University of Galway in the knockout stages of the Fitzgibbon Cup.

Meanwhile, SETU Waterford footballers were defeated by three points to TUS Midland Sport in round one of the Trench Cup.
