THE fixture details have been confirmed for Waterford's opening round Munster senior hurling championship fixture with Limerick in April.
The game had been due to be a home fixture for Waterford. However, Waterford GAA announced earlier this month that Walsh Park will be unavailable 'to host the scheduled inter-county games' as redevelopment work on the grounds gets underway.
Munster GAA has now confirmed that FBD Semple Stadium Thurles has been approved as the venue for Waterford’s Munster Senior Hurling Championship matches against Limerick on April 23 and the Deise's clash with Clare on May 13.
The meeting of Waterford and Munster and All-Ireland champions Limerick on Sunday, April 23 will have a 2pm throw-in time.
Davy Fitzgerald's Waterford side return to action in the Munster senior hurling championship seven days later on Sunday, April 30 against Cork at Páirc Uí Chaoimh at 7pm.
Waterford's third fixture in the round robin phase of the provincial championship will see them return to FBD Semple Stadium to face Clare on May 13, 6pm, and again on May 28 when they face off against Tipperary at 4pm.
