The Blues have announced the loan signing of Huddersfield Town starlet Charles Ondo ahead of Friday's season opener.
The 19-year-old Spaniard, who can operate in both defence and attack, has made two league appearances for the Terriers in the EFL Championship this season.
Speaking on the signing, Waterford FC Technical Director Jonathan Walters told Waterford's club website: "We are delighted to sign Charles, and that a Championship side is trusting us with one of their young talents on loan.
"We aim to ensure Waterford FC is a club at which top clubs around Europe can trust to send over their better young players, knowing they will be developed and improved, while helping the Blues to our ultimate aims for the coming season.
"Charles is a player who can play in a number of positions and we are confident he will add real quality to the group."
Danny Searle's side begin their 2023 League of Ireland First Division campaign away to Wexford FC at Ferrycarrig Park tomorrow evening.
