WATERFORD WEATHER: Mist and drizzle expected today (Feb 21) with ice possible overnight

Mostly cloudy weather is expected today (Tuesday February 21) with patches of mist or drizzle along with a few bright spells.

That's according to Met Éireann, which also forecasts rain developing in the west early this afternoon with highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees and gusty winds.

It will be breezy early tonight with outbreaks of rain or drizzle.

Rain will clear eastwards overnight and it will turn noticeably colder, with clear spells and scattered showers following as the rain clears.

Some of the showers will be heavy with hail and thunder.

There is potential for some wintry showers over the hills by Wednesday morning with frost and ice possible as minimum temperatures fall to between -1 and +3 degrees.
