Applications are now open for prospective beach lifeguards in Waterford for the summer 2023 season.
According to Waterford City and County Council, suitably qualified people can apply online here before the closing date of 4pm on Thursday March 16, 2023.
Temporary posts at Ardmore, Bonmahon, Clonea, Dunmore East and Tramore are available.
Lifeguards will provide supervision of activities at public bathing areas in Waterford in order to prevent drowning and other water related incidents and to provide emergency rescue service where required.
Candidates will be required to undergo a practical test in resuscitation, swimming ability and rescue techniques together with a written test, with successful candidates invited to attend for interview.
Candidates will also be required to attend a compulsory pre-employment briefing session and any further training as set out by the Council.
Normal hours of work will be from 11am to 7pm 5 days per week inclusive of Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays (Hours subject to change) with a one hour for lunch daily.
