Waterford City and County Council has announced the installation of drinking water stations across the county.
According to the council, 220,000 single-use plastic water bottles are generated across Ireland every day, with only 34% recycled.
Two water stations have been installed so far in Tramore, with others coming soon to Dunmore East, Clonea and Ardmore.

The project, which encourages people to refill reusable bottles for free, is funded by the EPA Ireland.
