Mundy and Paddy Casey among acts to perform free concerts in Waterford this summer

In the heart of the Viking Triangle in Waterford – Ireland’s oldest City under the shadow of the 13th Century Greyfriars Church is the Churchyard, an acoustic venue like no other and home to a stage that comes to life each summer offering locals and visitors an opportunity to enjoy a series of free open-air concerts every Saturday evening from June 3rd to August 26th.

The very best of regional and national live music acts will rock the crowds at The Chrichyard Sessions this summer with acts such as Paddy Casey, Mundy, Duke Special, The Papa Zitas, Liam O’Maonlaí and many more all set to perform.

The event is a joint initiative between The Reg Bar which was recently voted as Ireland’s Best Late Bar and The Munster Bar as part of Waterford’s Summer in the City events.

Opening the Churchyard Sessions this summer is Richie Hayes and Band on June 3rd, Paddy Casey will perform on June 10th, The Unusual Suspects on June 17th and The Papa Zitas on June 24th. Brass & Co take to the stage on July 1 and Mundy will of course take the July 8th spot with Thank Funk on July 15th and Duke Special on July 22nd. Liam O’Maonlaí will close July on the 29th and over the August Bank Holiday Weekend a Spraoi special will be on offer. On August 12th The Strobes will take to the stage and Mad Ferritt will perform on August 19th with Dave Lofts and Band bringing the summer sessions to a close on Saturday, August 26th 2023. 

In addition every Friday night from 8 pm, the hugely talented Dave Lofts will play live outside at on the Quayside at the historic Viking replica longboat.

All of 'The Churchyard Sessions' are free and access is offered on a first come first serve basis, each gig will commence at 8 pm with support acts beginning at 6.30 pm. To plan your visit see www.thereg.ie
