A status yellow thunderstorm warning is in place for Waterford
MET Éireann has issued a status yellow thunderstorm warning for Waterford and several other counties across the country.
The warning, which came into effect at 10am this Sunday warns of potential localised flash flooding across the city and county.
"Thunderstorms bringing frequent lightning, heavy downpours, gusty winds, and a chance of hail", states the warning which applies to all of Munster, Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Munster, Connacht, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Offaly and Westmeath.
Motorists are being advised to only travel if necessary as conditions could be difficult with reduced visibility at times.
The warning remains in place until 10pm.
