WEATHER: A mix of heavy showers and possible isolated thunderstorms in Waterford

Motorway network in Kildare badly affected by heavy rain

Some more heavy rainfall is on the way

There will be a mix of sunny spells and showers today, according to Met Éireann, with a possibility of thunderstorms.

Some showers will be heavy, especially in parts of the east and south this afternoon and evening with a few isolated thunderstorms possible. Highest of 15 to 19 degrees. Blustery at times with mostly moderate westerly winds, fresh at times near coasts.

Tonight, showers will become isolated and there will be good dry and clear spells. Some mist may develop as winds ease light. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees.

Highest temperatures will reach 18C in Waterford around 1pm today. 

Monday will bring a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers. It will turn mostly cloudy in the southwest in the evening with rain developing here towards the end of the day.

Highs of 17 to 19 degrees with a light, occasionally moderate, westerly breeze, Met Éireann forecasts.
