OVER €1.2M has been assigned to 70 not-for-profit organisations, it has been announced.
Now in its second year the Minister of State for Community Development, Integration and Charities, Joe O’Brien launched the International Protection Integration Fund 2023, allocating €1,200,776.
The Fund helps enable community based organisations across Ireland to play a greater role in supporting the integration of International Protection applicants at local and national levels.
As part of the 70 nationwide organisations, two Waterford services are exclusively receiving funding, while also being included in three other funding groups with a limited number of counties.
In addition, Waterford will also benefit from nine nationwide funding streams of up to €20,000 each. Those are: AdVIC, Doras, Irish Refugee Council, LGBT Ireland, MyMind CLG, National Youth Council of Ireland, Outhouse Ltd, Places of Sanctuary and Third Age.
The two exclusive Waterford organisations are: Lismore Sport for All, receiving €9,600 and Waterford Area Partnership, Mukisa Programme receiving €6,405.
Other non-exclusive funding will be given to Waterford Integration Services ‘Active Minds Programme’, which will also benefit counties Carlow, Kilkenny, Tipperary and Wexford, as well as Amber Women's Refuge CLG, One Million Stars Ireland Community Arts Project, benefitting Carlow, Dublin, Kerry, Kilkenny, Longford, Meath and Offaly.
The final project inclusive of Waterford is the Africa Solidarity Centre CLG, awarded €20,000 for counties Dublin, Cork, Galway, Kilkenny, Limerick and Longford, too.
