Talk on 1923 Waterford General Election CANCELLED due to unforeseen circumstances

A talk on the 1923 Waterford General Election due to go ahead tonight (August 24) at Dungarvan Town Hall Theatre has been cancelled. 

According to Waterford City and County Council, the talk - which was cancelled "due to unforeseen circumstances" - will be rescheduled in September. 

Items of discussion on the agenda included the triumph of Caitlín Brugha - the wife of Irish revolutionary Cathal Brugha - after topping the poll in Waterford. 

The free event was due to take place tonight at 6.30pm.
