Two people who died in Tipperary road collision removed to Waterford hospital

The bodies of two people who died in a single vehicle collision with a wall in Tipperary have been removed to University Hospital Waterford. 

An Garda Síochána and emergency services attended the scene of the collision, which occurred yesterday (August 29) shortly before 9pm in the Windmill Knockbulloge area of Cashel. 

Five people occupied the car, with three confirmed fatalities at time of publication. 

The adult male and adult female rear seat passengers, both aged in their 40s, were pronounced dead at the scene and removed to University Hospital Waterford. 

A 3-year-old infant boy was also fatally injured during the collision; his body has been taken to Tipperary University Hospital in Clonmel. 

Male and female front seat occupants aged in their 20s have been taken to Tipperary University Hospital where they continue to be treated for serious injuries. 

The road in Windmill Knockbulloge is currently closed to traffic with local diversions in place; it will remain closed this morning and is not expected to reopen for some time. 

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact the investigation team.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Windmill Knockbulloge area near Cashel between 8.30pm and 9.15pm yesterday evening are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
