'Words fail us' - Tributes pour in following tragic death of young father from Waterford

Declan Palmer passed away on Monday

Tributes have poured in following the sad and untimely death of Declan Palmer from Main Street, Lismore, County Waterford.

Declan passed away on Monday April 8 and is predeceased by his mother Catherine Moore and brother James Palmer.

He will be sadly missed by his heartbroken fiancée Carmel, daughters Esme and Samantha, father Neil, sister Mairéad, brother Patrick, grandfather Eddie, uncles, aunts, cousins, relatives and friends.

Heartfelt condolences have been left on RIP.ie by those who knew and remembered Declan, with one mourner writing,

"Words fail us at this time. May Declan's family both blood and extended be comforted during this time. The passing of Declan has an impact on our community far and wide. Declan you were a friend we could all rely on if we only knew your suffering.... We pray you are resting in peace now and the lord will watch over your little family and give them the strength and comfort they so desperately need in these days, weeks and months. Deep condolences."

Another wrote,

"It was a pleasure to get to know Declan, always a kind word and a smile, he helped so many people in Lismore and was always there to help out, so compassionate and passionate without threading on toes. He is a great loss in so many ways, thinking of Carmel and his two beautiful girls, whom he loved very very much x"

While another simply wrote,

"So sad to hear this . Such a lovely guy . Always had time to stop and talk. Condolences to Carmel and her 2 girls . Thinking of you at this sad time. Teresa and Owen."

Funeral Arrangements

Declan's funeral arrangements will be announced later on RIP.ie.
