Tributes pour in following death of beloved woman from Waterford whose 'smile brightened your day'

Margaret (Peggy) Duffin passed away on Friday

Tributes have poured in following the death of bleoved mother and grandmother Margaret (Peggy) Duffin (née Gleeson) from Ursuline Court, Waterford, formerly of Crooke, Passage East.

Peggy passed away peacefully on Friday, May 10, in the presence of her loving family, while under the exceptional care of the Sisters & staff of St Joseph's Care Home (Little Sisters of the Poor), Ferrybank and is predeceased by her husband Jack, son John, grandson Brian, her brothers and her sisters.

She is deeply mourned & sadly missed by her loving family; daughter Anne & husband, Bernard; son Noel & partner Joe; daughter Margaret & partner Colin, her loving grandchildren, Jenny, Róisín, Nicola, Lisa, Stephen, David, Sharon, Dean, Chloe, her nieces & nephews and her great-grandchildren.

Heartfelt condolences have been left on RIP.ie by those who knew and remembered Peggy, with one mourner writing,

"I send my heartfelt condolences to Ann, Margaret, Noel and all the Duffin family on the sad loss of Peggy. I had the pleasure of getting to know Peggy the last number of years and know how much her smile brightened your day. May the beautiful memories of Peggy bring you peace and strength. They will forever be in my heart."

Another wrote, 

"Our sincere condolences to Ann and Bernard and all the Duffin family on the loss of a great lady, may Peggy's gentle soul rest in peace amen."

While another wrote,

"My sincere condolences to the Duffin family. Their mam was a beautiful lady. May her gentle soul rest in peace."

Funeral Arrangements

Peggy will be reposing at St. Joseph's Care Home (Little Sisters of the Poor) between 3pm-5pm on Wednesday, May 15.

Mass will take place at 10:30am on Thursday, May 16, at the Church of the St Joseph's Care Home, followed immediately by burial in St. Killian’s Cemetery adjoining the Sacred Heart Church, Ferrybank.
