Elderly Waterford man rushed to hospital after single vehicle collision

 

 

An elderly Waterford man has been taken to hospital after a single vehicle road collision. 

According to An Garda Síochána, the collision occurred on Barrack St, Passage East in Waterford Town yesterday afternoon (Thursday June 27) at approximately 12pm. 

Emergency services attended the scene. 

The man - who is aged in his 80s - suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to University Hospital Waterford for treatment. 

The road has since been cleared. 

Less than fifteen hours later, two teenage boys on an e-scooter died after colliding with a bus in Waterford City. 

Gilbert Collins, 15, died at the scene of the collision while Abuzwa Idris, 17, later passed away at University Hospital Waterford.
