Funeral details announced for 15 year old boy who died in Waterford e-scooter crash

Funeral details for the 15 year old Waterford boy who died in a tragic e-scooter crash have been announced. 

Gilbert Collins died at the scene of the crash on Cork Road, Waterford City early yesterday (June 27) morning at approximately 2.10am. 

His friend, Abuzwa Idris (17), was also travelling on the e-scooter at the time of the collision and later died from his injuries at University Hospital Waterford. 

Idris' funeral details have not yet been announced. 

Collins - of Ardmore Park, Ballybeg - will repose at Tom Hennessy's Funeral Home, 45A Johnstown, Waterford on Monday (July 1) from 5pm to 7pm. 

Prayers will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday (July 2) at 12pm noon, followed by removal to Kilbarry Cemetery, Link Road, Ballybeg, Waterford for burial on arrival. 

He will be sadly missed by his heartbroken father Bobby, mother Ronke, brothers Albert Collins and Marvellous Okin and his sister Precious Okin, grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family, neighbours, and friends.
