A seven-storey hotel will be constructed at the quays in Dungarvan following the approval of planning permission.
A planning application for the major development was submitted in November 2023 for the demolition of the 1970s era three-storey Bridge House building at Davitts Quay to make way for construction.
Waterford City and County Council has granted planning permission (with 21 conditions) for the construction of the hotel and aparthotel development with 42 hotel bedrooms, 42 aparthotel rooms, and penthouse suite with balconies/terrace areas.
The ground floor will comprise two function halls (which can integrate to a single larger space), lobby/reception, publicly accessible café/bar serving hot food, and indoor and outdoor seating areas.
The development will also include a basement level which will house plant, service and storage areas, as well as staff areas such as kitchens.
Forty eight car parking spaces (three of which will be disabled bays) will be provided at the existing Western Terrace car park site, to include three spaces for the hotel.
Twenty six bicycle parking/storage spaces will be created as well.
