'An absolute gem' - Tributes paid following sad death of beloved Waterford woman

Anne Dixon (née Flynn) passed away on Monday

Tributes have poured in following the sad death of Anne Dixon (née Flynn), late of Marian ParkWaterford, who passed away on Monday September 16, 2024. 

She is predeceased by her parents Annie and Nicholas.

Anne will be sadly, missed by her loving husband Ken, daughter Anne-Marie, son Kenneth, son-in-law Ray, daughter-in-law Denise, grandchildren Jack, Callum, Aaron, brothers John, Pat, and Nicholas, sister Pauline, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Heartfelt condolences have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and fondly remembered Anne, with one mourner writing,

"Sincere Condolences to my dear friend Anne-Marie and all the Dixon family. Your Mom was a beautiful person and I’ve no doubt will be greatly missed. Will have a mass offered for her soul. May she rest in peace. Amen."

Another wrote,

"So sorry to hear about Anne she was a beautiful lady and the kindest I have ever known we have a lot to thank her for may she rest in peace and to all the family. She will be missed by all who knew her. Pray for you always."

While another wrote,

"Sincere condolences to all the Dixon family , Ken , Anne - Marie and Ken jnr. Grandkids , Flynn family and friends. Anne was a gem and she built up a long friendship with me from my time in the musicals , to my time in the hospital, where she unfortunately, spent way too much time there. We loved our chats, and her sense of humour was a ticket. Anne will be a huge loss to all concerned with her sad passing. Rest in peace Anne , A lady. X."

Funeral Arrangements 

Reposing at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Barrack Street, Waterford today, Wednesday September 18, from 7pm to 8.30pm with vigil prayers and rosary at 8 pm.

Anne’s funeral cortege will be walking from the funeral home on Thursday September 19 to Ballybricken Church for Mass on arrival at 10:30 am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
