As part of the 2024 Waterford International Film Festival (WIFF) two exclusive short film programmes were screened at South East Technological University’s (SETU) Granary Campus this Saturday.

This year WIFF and SETU entered into a partnership, representing a significant collaboration between two pillars of creativity and innovation in the south east region.

As part of the partnership, two blocks of short film screenings took place this Saturday at the Auditorium in SETU’s Architecture School in the Granary, which is located in the heart of Waterford’s vibrant Cultural Quarter.

The screenings featured a selection of short films from 18 incredible filmmakers, including talented debut and student filmmakers as well as established professionals.

“We are delighted to present such diverse voices through our new partnership with SETU. The Granary is an excellent venue to highlight a diverse mix of films from both emerging and established talent, and our goal is to develop more programs with SETU in the future,” he added.

Dr Suzanne Denieffe, Head of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at SETU in Waterford, said SETU is delighted to work with the WIF and is especially proud to host film screenings at the Granary Campus.

“SETU’s partnership with WIFF reflects our commitment to fostering cultural connections and supporting the arts within Waterford and beyond. We believe in the transformative power of the arts to inspire, unite, and drive meaningful change, and we are proud to play a role in showcasing creative talent from around the world,” said Dr Denieffe.
