"Such a lovely lady" - Waterford community mourns the loss of popular local woman

Tributes have poured in following the death of Clare Brazil nee Hearne of John's Hill in Waterford.

Clare passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the age of 85 on Wednesday, 12 March. 

The Waterford woman leaves behind her husband Donal, children Michael, Kevin, Sara, Ronan and Crea, as well as her three grandchildren and extended family. According to her death notice, Clare was predeceased by her daughter Orla, brother Michael and sister Barbara. 

Evidently, from the many messages left following her passing, Clare had a huge impact in her community and was well loved and respected.

Many people have taken to share their fondest memories and admiration of Clare online as well as to express their deepest condolences with her family. 

Of the many heartfelt comments left under Clare's RIP.ie notice, one person wrote: "A truly wonderful lady, will always remember her kindness and gracious elegance and her down to earth forthright opinions. A truly great loss to our community."

Another shared: "I was a huge fan of Clare’s she was a super lady, loved when she dined with us at The Strand, always such a nice person."

Continuously commended for her kindness and grace, it is clear that Clare will be greatly missed by all who knew her, as one person wrote: "It was always a pleasure to meet Clare, she brought warmth and kindness into every encounter."

Clare's funeral arrangements will follow soon.
