RIP: 'Taken too soon' - Tributes paid following sad an untimely death of young Waterford mother

Tributes have poured in following the sad and untimely death of young mother from Waterford, Clodagh Foley (née Hickey), late of Coolydoody Farm, Ballyduff Upper, Co. Waterford and formerly of Glounthaune, Co. Cork.

Clodagh passed away on Mother's Day, Sunday March 30, suddenly but peacefully, in the tender and loving care of the Bon Secours Hospital, Cork.

Clodagh is deeply regretted by her loving husband James, adored mam of Walter, Joseph and Declan.

The much loved daughter of Winnie (nee Waterman) and Jim Hickey, Clodagh will be so very missed by her loving sisters Niamh and Maeve, father-in-law Cam and mother-in-law Eileen Foley, sisters-in-law Anne Moore and Maria Murray, uncles Bill Waterman, Pat and Finbarr Hickey, aunts Evelyn Walsh, Phyllis Geasley, Breda Donegan, Carmel O’Callaghan and the late Valerie O'Connor, her many cousins, especially Laura, relatives, neighbours and friends.

May She Rest In Peace.

Heartfelt condolences have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and fondly remembered Clodagh, with one mourner writing,

"Sincere condolences to James, children & families on the sad passing of Clodagh. She had a great sense of humour & was always smiling. Our thoughts & prayers are with you all at this sad time. May she rest in the peace."

Another wrote,

"Heartfelt condolences to James, Walter, Joseph, Declan, Maria and the wider Hickey and Foley families on Clodagh's passing. She was a true lady, bubbly and so kind. Keeping you all in our thoughts at this difficult time."

While another wrote,

"Deepest condolences to James, Walter, Joseph and Declan and to the Foley & Hickey families on the passing of your beautiful Clodagh. We both met Clodagh through Ballyduff Mothers & Others, her sense of humour and smiling face will always be remembered. Thinking of you all at this difficult time. May her gentle soul rest in peace."

Funeral Arrangements

Lying in repose at Aidan Walsh and Sons Funeral Home Tallow today, Tuesday evening April 1, 2025 from 5pm to 7pm, followed by removal to St. Michael’s Church, Ballyduff Upper.

Funeral Mass on Wednesday morning April 2, 2025, in St. Michael’s Church, Ballyduff Upper at 11am.

Cremation Service will take place privately.
