WOW! Lucky Waterford player beats massive odds to win mega cash prize on scratch card

The player, who wishes to remain anonymous, claimed the €75,000 top prize in the All Cash Platinum scratch card game

A lucky scratch card player from County Waterford has beaten odds of more than a million-to-one to claim a mega cash prize from the National Lottery.

The player, who wishes to remain anonymous, claimed the €75,000 top prize in the All Cash Platinum scratch card game from National Lottery headquarters in Dublin.

According to the National Lottery, the winning scratch card was purchased at D. Kirwan’s foodstore (Danny's) at Main Street, Kilmacthomas.

Reflecting on her win, the lucky player said: "This is a game-changer for me! When I saw all the numbers match, I was completely taken aback. I’m already planning to treat myself to a few holidays over the next year to celebrate this incredible win!" 

According to the National Lottery, the odds of any player winning one of eight top prizes in the All Cash Platinum scratch card game is an incredible 1 in 1,200,000.

Commenting, Darragh O'Dwyer of the National Lottery said.  "We’ve seen an exciting wave of significant wins across our scratch card games recently, including the largest scratch card win of 2025, worth an incredible €500,000 from Andrew’s Spar in Balrothery (Dublin). It’s always a pleasure to see how these wins impact players’ lives, and we’re thrilled to continue celebrating these milestones with our winners."
