RIP: Tributes paid to a 'great character' following Waterford man's passing

Patrick (Paddy) Hearne - Waterford - Tuesday 22nd April 2025

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Patrick (Paddy) Hearne of St. John’s Park, Waterford.

Paddy passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family and the wonderful staff in Killure Bridge Nursing Home on Tuesday 22nd April 2025.

Predeceased by his loving wife May, brothers Bobby, John and Danno, son-in-law Noel.

Sadly missed by his children Pat, Margaret, Noel and Brian, their partners Orla, Liam, Dorothy and Marcella, grandchildren Yvonne, Thomas, Ryan, Natalie, Steven, Andrew, Sophie, Noel, Patrick, Tony, Saoirse and Richard, great-grandchildren, Jessica, Jack, Ruby, Jamie, Aaron, Fiadh and Kai, brother Billy, sisters-in-law Nancy, Breda and Kitty, brother-in-law Paddy, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Tributes have been paid in the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: 

"So sorry to hear of Paddy’s passing I had the pleasure of knowing him as a true gentleman and a great character he will be truly missed."

Another reads:

"Our deepest sympathy to Maggie and family on the the very sad passing of your dear dad ,Paddy.You are in our thoughts and prayers during this sad and difficult time. May Paddy's gentle soul rest in peace."

Funeral Arrangements

Reposing at his residence 404 Kennedy Row, St. John’s Park, Waterford (X91 NY2X) on Thursday (24th April) from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.

Paddy’s Funeral cortège will be walking from the Candy Store on Friday (25th April) to the Sacred Heart Church The Folly for Requiem Mass on arrival at 2:00pm followed by burial in St. Otterans Cemetery.
