A Waterford woman has been appointed Head of Marketing for the Republic of Ireland at one of the country’s leading homecare providers.

Dungarvan native Philomena Donnelly brings over 30 years of marketing experience to her new role with Bluebird Care, a national provider of homecare services which employs more than 2,500 people across 26 locally-owned offices.

Her impressive career includes work with major Irish brands such as Waterford Crystal, the International Rose of Tralee Festival and Newbridge Silverware, where she oversaw the global launch of the Museum of Style Icons.

Announcing the appointment, Bluebird Care Managing Director Jonathan Gardner said: “Philomena is vastly experienced in brand and business development, with exceptional vision and an entrepreneurial skillset.”

In her new role, Ms Donnelly will support regional homecare operators across Ireland in market development, staff resourcing and training. She will also help enhance communications with public health services and charitable agencies.

Passionate about quality homecare, Ms Donnelly said: “Homecare and community-based care is more vital than ever. Our ageing relatives should be supported to live independently for longer, and Bluebird Care invests consistently in better care to allow people live their lives on their own terms.”

A graduate of The Marketing Institute of Ireland, she also holds an honours business degree and various marcoms qualifications.
