RIP: 'Beautiful inside and out'- Tributes pour in for dearly loved Waterford wife and mother

Miriam Chester has passed away recently

Tributes have poured in for popular local woman Miriam Chester née Mullally who's funeral was held recently in Waterford.

Miriam died on 15th May 2025 and will be very sadly missed by her loving husband Mick, sons Jack and Ian, daughter-in-law Aoife, brother Lawrence, sisters Linda and Joan, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Heartfelt messages have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and fondly remembered Miriam, with one mourner writing,

"Sincere condolences to Mick, Jack, Ian and all Miriam's family and friends. Thinking of you all at this difficult time. Miriam was beautiful inside and out. She always had a smile and a few words for everyone. She never changed, from our school days to working in Waterford Crystal and meeting her in Freshways - gone too soon but she won't ever be forgotten. Rest in peace Miriam."

Another message said, "I'm so sorry and shocked to hear of Miriam's passing what a beautiful lady, my sincere condolences to Mick and the boys all the Mullally and Chester families on your tremendous loss, may the memories you all have of Miriam give you comfort in the weeks and months ahead, rest easy Miriam."

"I am heartbroken at the news of the passing of this beautiful woman Miriam Mullally as I always called her. She was not only my first cousin but my neighbour in Lisduggan. I watched you grow up over the years into a wonderful person. You were a gift from God to me when Sinead was born, every time I opened the door you were there to help care for her even though you were only a teenager. Paddy loved you and up to the end he would always say “I’ve a great smack for Miriam Mullally”. We know you never forgot him either. Both of you had a great connection. God has taken you too soon but I’m sure you are an angel already. Rest easy. My prayers are with you always. We will miss you," another tribute read.
