‘One in a million’ - Tributes pour in following death of beloved young Waterford woman

Tributes have flooded in following the death of Brenda McGinn (née Foley) of Oakdale, Kilgobinet, Dungarvan.

Brenda sadly passed away surrounded by her loving family at University Hospital Waterford on Wednesday, 4 June

The Waterford woman leaves behind her husband Benny, her son Brein, daughter Keelin, brothers Hugh, Alan, Gavin and Peter, extended family and a wide circle of friends.

Evidently by the many messages left online since her passing, Brenda was well loved within her community. Many have taken to share kind words and memories online as well as to express their sympathies and condolences with Brenda’s family.

Among the tributes paid online, one person said: "Brenda was one in a million, the most beautiful person inside and out and the most generous soul with the best sense of humour and infectious laugh.

What an honour and privilege to have known her and loved her, she touched so many lives for the better. Her friendship with my mother was inspiring and taught me that friends are truly chosen family."

Another said: "Brenda was such a lovely and happy person. She always had time for a chat. Brenda will be sadly missed."

Someone else shared: "Shocked to hear of Brenda's passing, a lovely lady who always had time for a chat and a lovely smile for everyone."

Brenda’s funeral mass will take place on Saturday, 7 June at 11am in St. Augustine’s Church in Abbeyside. Burial will take place afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
