Thomas and Kelly have been together since 2017 and both have competed in the Olympic Games in recent years.

Thomas announced his retirement in January after a successful career as a 400m hurdler.

The 2024 Paris Olympics marked his third time competing in the Games, while it was a first for his now fiancé.

Kelly was part of the 4 x 400m female relay team while Thomas and his team came 10th in the 4 x 400m mixed relay.

They made Irish history by being the first female team to make it to an Olympic final in the 4 x 400m relay.
